“I’d like to thank the honorable Chief Guest Arputham, my department HOD Verona, my co-ordinator Jeyaraj, my best friend Deepan, the faculty, and fellow students who spent their valuable time being here!” Pavithra ended the event, which was followed by thundering applause. I was awestruck by her daring act of including my name in the Valedictory speech. Most of them didn’t seem to notice, but her HOD was stunned and confused by her sudden inclusion in their decades-old template. Pavithra winked from the stage and disappeared into the crowd that escorted the chief guest. Pavithra and I’ve been friends for almost three hundred days now, ever since she texted me after reading my blog. She was the first enthusiastic fan outside of my friends for my writing. She genuinely loved all my works and pointed out the few she didn’t. She had invited me to her college for a random workshop on “Girls and how they should be protected.” It was the most backward speech I’ve heard in years. But of co...

Chandana! 💓

Chandana! 💓

Okay, calm down, Deepan, you can do this. Guys, Am quite nervous about this. Till now, writing about people was easy, to be honest. But writing about a strict critic, is tough know?
Chandana, is the other friend I got from that day at Viba’s. Within 5 mins, she got so settled and started to talk like, as if, we are friends for over a decade. That day I found out, No one can stop her from talking and eating, and the main thing is, while doing the things I mentioned, she forgets the world.
Kishore and I were sitting opposite to her, only to see her eat from her lunch box. She saw us seeing her, and I think she never thought to even ask about our lunch status. She smiled at us, and we became ready to extend our hands for some of her food, but anyway, she continued to eat. If you guys knew Tom and Jerry, then you would remember the character Nibbles too. That’s exactly what she is, when hungry.
Apart from this, she talks equal rights for women. She doesn’t drag in it unnecessarily, until someone ignite her. Kishore had a great fight with her once, and I was about to call ambulance to fix his bleeding ears, but they ended the fight with peace.
Nothing can be commonly said about her. I hear you saying, “there would be something da!” What to do! She doesn’t even like Deverakonda da! See how strange she is.
This is a pirated version of her profile pic.

By the way, She is a dancer. Ah! Yes! She is a Bharathanatyam dancer. She is well interested in it and dances well. If you talk about Bharathanatyam with her over 3 minutes, you will have to dance. Yeah, she thought I was interested and made me ‘dance’!
“Wow! Then you’re a dancer ah!” Nah! I was just hopping hopelessly.
So, I have some incidents to say to you guys. Interesting I felt, and am sure you guys would be excited too.
She once wanted to eat something and noodles was the only option. I wanted to turn up my collars In front of everyone there, so I enrolled myself for saving the day. She made me make noodles and gave a tough time for me. I had to bring out the Master-Chef Australia in me, and I overcame the disadvantage task of eggs in it too, which came all of a sudden. I completed it somehow and decorated it in a steel bowl. But all this effort, for seeing her to reject it simply. She said after that, she was vegetarian. For a second, I thought, my whole life went pointless. It was painful, painful than biting your tongue in between the dinner.
The second incident, was created by me. All of a sudden, I wanted to make a film and wanted her to act in my short film. I went and narrated the story to her family and got approval from them too. I had the whole script too. I thought, film-making was so easy. Its easy until every actor in the cast are Telugu people. Yeah, unpopular opinion.
I never thought of that disadvantage, and as far as I knew her, she speaks Tamil well. At least, with a couple of English words in it. I wrote the script and convinced them to take on their respective roles. The first day of shoot came.
I told her what she should do, the position she had to stand and everything. It was in front of Cherishma’s house and according to the scene, she had to dash Kanda Boopathy with a scooter. Properties were ready and even, we made Kanda stand there with some confidence. Deep inside he was shivering but everyone then, wanted the shot to come out well.
“What could go wrong here? No dialogues also! Then what!” I’ll tell now. She sat on the scooter and suddenly, she called me as if she had forgot the keys, to say she didn’t know to ride a scooter.
Dead silence. Kanda laughed. Of course he would do. He knew he was not going to be dashed by the scooter. Then everyone laughed. Yeah, I had been that stupid and didn’t even ask her about this. We didn’t do that short film, maybe, we couldn’t replace that scene, or the truth is, we came out of that serious mode. Thank God, she said the truth before dashing him.
The step she told me to do. How cruel know!

She is a surprising person always. When we ask a question to a person, we would expect some answer from them. We all do it right? I bet you, you guys can’t guess what she’s gonna say. When everyone said the blog is good, I expected a positive comment from her too. She loved the idea, but pointed out all the negatives and flaws in it. I’m not complaining, but just saying how unpredictable she is.

Speaking about this unpredictability factor, that’s what she is. I’m hoping for her not to change this characteristic, Because she’s specialist in doing what’s unexpected! I request you Vangala Chandana Naga Venkata Sathya Sai Madhu Shree (Mam, Additional Sheet!), never to change this attitude, or in better words, don’t surprise us, in this! Be calm and Stay Unpredictable.
