Attention!

“I’d like to thank the honorable Chief Guest Arputham, my department HOD Verona, my co-ordinator Jeyaraj, my best friend Deepan, the faculty, and fellow students who spent their valuable time being here!” Pavithra ended the event, which was followed by thundering applause. I was awestruck by her daring act of including my name in the Valedictory speech. Most of them didn’t seem to notice, but her HOD was stunned and confused by her sudden inclusion in their decades-old template. Pavithra winked from the stage and disappeared into the crowd that escorted the chief guest. Pavithra and I’ve been friends for almost three hundred days now, ever since she texted me after reading my blog. She was the first enthusiastic fan outside of my friends for my writing. She genuinely loved all my works and pointed out the few she didn’t. She had invited me to her college for a random workshop on “Girls and how they should be protected.” It was the most backward speech I’ve heard in years. But of co...

Mental Manadhil! ❤️

Image
Mental Manadhil!  ❤️   “Deepannnnnnnn!”, shouted some girl on top of her voice. I removed my headphones, adjusted my boxers, and went out to see who it was. It was Apsara, standing before my house. I had to look again properly, to see if it was happening, real-time. It was her, in a bright-colored formal shirt and ankle-length beige pants. She looked up ready for something and I sensed something was up. “Deepan, come down, with your scooter keys and your wallet. Hurry up”, she said, breathing in and out fast. I ran in, took my wallet, and I had around 400 with me. I took the keys and went down to give them to her. As soon I went down, she held my hands and took me towards the scooter. “Hey! What’s happening, leave me! Where are you taking me!”, I exclaimed. “Deepan, wake up. And come with me. It’s something important…” said she, in a serious tone. “At least, let me wear something decent. These boxers are too revealing”, I said, turning pink. “…. And urgent...

Give Me Your Hand! 💓

Image
Give Me Your Hand! 💓   We had to walk all the way to her home. Arun took away his scooter and left for his home, for an urgent errand. He promised that he will pick me up from Nakshatra’s house. So, I took the job of dropping her at home. The road was empty and silent. One or two stray dogs were busy searching through the garbage. I looked straight, even though my mind was struggling between millions of thoughts. I wanted to look at her, but no. Already, she had noticed me staring at her, and it became embarrassing. I didn’t want to look like a stalker. I looked at her. She looked pretty, ah no. Gorgeous, nope. She looked pink. Yes, pink. Don’t ask why. It's my adjective for explaining her. Perfectly outlined eyes, sharp nose, evenly shaped teeth, and post-pimple bumps made her look pink. I took my phone out, turned on the selfie camera, and looked at myself. I looked as if I was the ugliest person existent on the Earth. “Oh Mister, you look great. Now please put ...

June’s Hungry!

Image
June’s Hungry!   I was at the door. Expecting food that I had ordered over a phone call. I opened Instagram and signed in with my name, Sara June. While scrolling through memes and promotions, one picture disrupted my flow. It was him. His recent post. It was him who made me hungry all of a sudden. It was him, I ordered Biryani. Memories took over me to the past. I still remember him fresh the day I saw him first. Checked Shirt, with a blazer over it and neat formal trousers, made him look fancy enough. For a moment, the safety pin in my shoulder disappeared and I felt loose. Maybe, due to a drop in confidence. Well, HE was the odd one out. Who wears a blazer for a puberty function in the family? Yet I felt ashamed for not able to take my eyes from him. I was damn hungry and was in a dilemma whether I should sit and eat first. Well, what if Ramani Aunty sees me eat before the guests and complain to Amma? Argh! They’ll skin me! But still, I was fasting from 3 in the...

18 Years Young! ❤

Image
18 Years Young!   I've become a bit predictable, right? Well, my fault. Anyway, this is once again a birthday article about a person, who I actually love. Well, before you get to any conclusions, I’ll inform you that the person is me! The special thing is, this is my 18 th birthday. I don’t know about others, but I've always waited for my 18 th birthday. Why? I'll list it below. ·         I've always been restricted to watch 18+ movies, and had missed many famous films. I caught up with Vada Chennai on Vijay TV, but Super Deluxe is still waiting for me on my watchlist.   ·         I've always wanted to drive our scooter with confidence, especially not expecting Appa to appear on the junctions I pass. I’ll get my license soon.   ·         I was too eager to end the jeopardy rule of the ruling party, by registering my vote. They held elections tw...

Depression Diaries #2:- Deeper This Time!

Image
11-March-2021   Yeah, It was me who once said this blog is for positivity and all. Even though I had broken my rules in places, I managed to keep up the vibe. But what happened? Why the frequency became less and why the quality went to ground level? Well, to be frank, the day I never wanted to come, has visited me.

Enga Annan! (Binny!) 💖

Image
Enga Annan! (Binny!) 💖   Turning 18 years old, here’s the story about a Lion. No, he ain’t a fan of the Singam series. He is truly a lion. That’s why I call him that. No, not a fan of Kadaikutty Singam either. Shut the Soori in your brain. Shall we start? From the empty roads in Krishna Nagar to the vast, but again-empty roads in Sipcot, we both became mature. We didn’t realize each other’s presence and how helpful it is until he spaced around 45 km away from me. We weren’t responsible for this and there was nothing we could’ve done. Starting out to dig my old memories, we have always been in the same team, no matter what’s the festival. We also speak all the nonsense no one can even imagine. We apply our knowledge wherever possible. Recalling those days now, it has always been a ‘Outshining’ competition. Mostly he used to win, as he would easily blame that am 4 months younger than him.

Revisiting The ‘Why Not’ Girl! ❤

Revisiting The ‘Why Not’ Girl! ❤   So, any guesses who is the ‘Why Not’ girl? Of course, you would know. You would’ve seen the photo preview right! Don't get offended. I sincerely appreciate those geniuses who genuinely found out. This sequel is made for the 17th birthday of a genius I know (Yeah, I can hear you. She's my friend, but still manages to stay genius). It’s our very renowned celebrity,  Chandana. Unpredictable, Surprising, Foodie, Dominator (Not Terminator, read it again), and Always Hungry, were the keywords in my last blog for her. She was really tough to write last time, as it was to be funny and well-explaining at the same time. This time, it turns out it had got only tougher.  You guys have any idea how tough a sequel is? Not just any sequel, it's on Chandana.

13 Reasons Why - Reasons to watch!   I have seen this series, even though am still 17. I read what it was about, and felt it is important for every teen to watch this. I’ll keep myself from spoiling, but still, beware, Mild Spoilers Ahead.

Paneer Butter Masala! 💓

Image
Paneer Butter Masala! 💓   Startled by the bell rings at the door, I went into the restaurant. Confusion took over the place of surprise, as there were foreigners more than Indian people. All the tables were full, and a single table was almost impossible to find. I took the help of a kind waiter, made him understand my Indian accent and acquired a single-person table. I was at Flavours Of India, Sydney. It was my first time in any foreign country and I was much more alienated by bread and lettuce slices. I wanted to make myself at home for the next 6 months, so I thought of finding Indian friends here. The menu had calligraphed letters, reading traditional Indian dishes. With my chest swelling of pride, I called the waiter and ordered Paneer Butter Masala with Garlic Naan. Instantly after ordering, I felt relaxed, as my next work involved no interaction with people there. It was pretty hard to spot Indian-looking people there, but my hunger for Indian people made m...

V̶i̶c̶t̶i̶m̶, Opponent!

Image
Victim,  Opponent!   Hey friends! This is Harini here! Most of you won’t know me! Am Deepan’s friend, and here to share something useful! Don’t worry, I’ll stick to the point, and be precise, unlike Deepan’s blah-blah-blah… Am 17 years old girl and an aspiring astronaut. I want to land on Moon. I want to be the girl on the moon, and show these people I can survive there. Cool right? I always thought being brave is the best thing a human could do. So, for my profession, I thought choosing Science Group after 10 th was my perfect decision. Then came this day, where I did something “Heroic”. For people who are currently thinking, the phrase should be “Heroinic”, Thank you for reading this blog till here. You can resume watching Bigg Boss. R(B)est of the readers, let me tell a story. It happened on 9 th October 2020. Didn’t inform parents, took my Amma’s Scooty (No license yet) and took some money from my savings. Yeah, let it be my savings, still, I used to infor...
